The PADERMO project will be implemented in 19 municipalities spread across four provinces in the Oriental region: two municipalities in the Oujda-Angad prefecture, three in the province of Berkane, nine in the province of Driouch, and five in the province of Guercif. Each province has specific characteristics in terms of agricultural structures, infrastructure, and level of vulnerability, which requires a differentiated and tailored approach. Oujda-Angad, which is highly urbanized around the city of Oujda, has a developed infrastructure network that facilitates exchanges between urban and rural areas. Driouch, which is predominantly agro-pastoral, suffers from a lack of basic infrastructure and limited access to social and economic services. Berkane, well served by a road network, is an important agricultural hub, particularly for the citrus fruit sector, but faces problems of access to water. Guercif, characterized by subsistence agriculture and a significant infrastructure deficit, requires increased support to diversify economic activities and improve living conditions.
